Chori Chori - Ye Raat Bheegi Bheegi

(1956)

Even though this song is older than my parents, it still gives me chills when I listen to it. The cinematography of the film is also quite beautiful, I don’t think that I would feel the same way about it if it were shot in colour. There’s something about the tones, and Raj Kapoor and Nargis’ expressions that just hit me right in the heart.

This song in particular reminds me of my late Grandfather as we used to listen to “Evergreen” bollywood songs when I’d visit him in California.

R.I.P. Aaja, I love you.

omg i tried so hard to love this movie (IT’S AN IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT REMAKE WITH MY CLASSIC BOLLYWOOD OTP O MY GOD) but i was sorely disappointed. the soundtrack is SO GREAT though

ok so normally i am pretty indifferent about songs involving cutesy children but i do not even care about the children this time because RAJ KAPOOR AND NARGIS

idkidk i just love the ending so much. i just wish they would make the subtitles actual translations of the lyrics instead of random shit that rhymes i don’t want to be spending all this time googling translations!!

- playing tricks, it has entered your heart

and it has finished now (??)

be careful, and don’t fall into its snare

guess what it is!

- misery?

- no! it’s me!
